Currently on my desk are books by Bob Shea and Marla Frazee--two totally different writers, but both wonderful. I especially love Shea's humor and "plot twists."Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1295379888006925064.post-69225266474110413082014-03-10T18:10:36.711-04:002014-03-10T18:10:36.711-04:00I agree about typing out the texts. We would pick out specific things we liked about the story and record them on a chart. Then the students would try to use at least one thing from the chart in their own writing that week. It really helped them improve their writing tremendously. Now I have to put my own lesson to work in my writing!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05419138502846490455noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1295379888006925064.post-38083589954394061862014-03-10T13:55:28.416-04:002014-03-10T13:55:28.416-04:00I love LOVE THAT DOG. The book I could "soak" in genius from is Sharon Creech's LOVE THAT DOG. The POV, what isn't said that speaks so loudly, the poetry and the VOICE in that book is perfect. Thanks, Marcie for the new resources to peruse! Kathy Halseyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11600954824509054774noreply@blogger.com
